Kompleks Sukan Kelana Jaya, Malaysia – The much-anticipated PJ International Outdoor Expo 2023, a celebration of outdoor adventure and nature appreciation, concluded on a high note after three action-packed days from the 2nd to the 4th of June. With over 105 exhibitors and 100+ exhibition booths, the Expo attracted a staggering number of visitors, estimated to be around 25,000.
The grand opening of the Expo took place at Kompleks Sukan Kelana Jaya and was graced by the presence of Puan Sharipah Marhaini binti Sayed Ali, the esteemed Deputy Mayor of Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ). Among the distinguished guests were the Expo’s founders, Mr. Fathee Razali and Elize van Reenen, along with the Director of Forest Eco Park dan Hutan Taman Negeri from the Forestry Department Malaysia.
Designed to cater to outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers from across Malaysia, the PJ International Outdoor Expo provided a platform for various companies within the outdoor industry to showcase their products and services. From camping gear and hiking equipment to adventure travel packages and sustainable outdoor initiatives, the Expo presented a diverse range of offerings.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Fathee Razali, the organizer, expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, performers, business owners, exhibitors, and participants. He emphasized the importance of embracing nature and the significance of such expos in Malaysia. Mr. Fathee also highlighted his vision of passing on the legacy of the outdoor expo to the younger generation who will lead such activities in the future. During the event, the Prince of Selangor came for visiting all the booths and observe the Expo. There were also two awards that were given from the Expo organizers: Green Award and Safety Award.
The chief guest of the event, Puan Sharipah Marhaini binti Sayed Ali, delivered an inspiring speech, extending her thanks to the organizers on behalf of the Mayor of MBPJ. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the role those outdoor activities play in allowing people to explore nature while staying fit. She further expressed MBPJ’s unwavering support for endeavors that promote a “safe and resilient city.”
Among the many exhibitors that showcased their products and services at the Expo, The Great Nature magazine stood out as the official media partner. The magazine, which had previously collaborated with the 2022 Expo, published a special issue this year, highlighting Malaysia’s vibrant outdoor industry.
The PJ International Outdoor Expo 2023 was not only a platform for industry professionals but also a hub of excitement and discovery for the thousands of visitors who flocked to the event. From informative workshops and demonstrations to thrilling outdoor activities and engaging exhibitions, the Expo offered something for everyone.
