The 2nd Outdoor Expo called ‘PJ International Outdoor Expo’ has been launched today (3rd of June, 2023) at Kompleks Sukan Kelana Jaya. The expo was officiated by Puan Sharipah Marhaini binti Sayed Ali, the Deputy Mayor of Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ). During the launch of the event, there are some distinguished guests present including two founders of the Expo, Mr. Fathee Razali and Elize van Reenen; the Director of Forest Eco Park dan Hutan Taman Negeri, Forestry Department Malaysia.
The expo is mainly targeted for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers from across Malaysia. It also provides a platform for Malaysia’s outdoor industry by hosting indoor and outdoor booths of different companies. After the launch of the program, the organiser Mr. Fathee Razali expresses his gratitude to the guests and welcomes all participants and visitors of the events including the performers and business owners and exhibitors. He asserts that there is a need to love nature together. He stresses the importance of outdoor activities and the significance of such expo in Malaysia. Mr. Fathee also says that he wants to pass this legacy of outdoor expo to the young generations who will lead such activities in the future.
The chief guest of the event, Puan Sharipah Marhaini binti Sayed Ali (Deputy Mayor of MBPJ). She greets all participants and thanks the organisers of the expo at the very outset of her speech. She conveys thanks on behalf of the Mayor of MBPJ. Outlining the importance of such outdoor expo, she asserts that MBPJ will always support this kind of endeavour. She says that there is a great significance in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and outdoor activities give people chance to explore nature and remain fit. Such events are helpful in shaping a “safe and resilient city”, she added.
The expo was filled with many booths by different organisations and companies pertinent to the outdoor industry of Malaysia. Among them, The Great Nature magazine stands out as official media partner. The magazine published Special Issue last year in collaboration with the expo of 2022. This year too, the magazine published Special Issue, highlighting Malaysia’s outdoor industry.
Overall, the PJ International Outdoor Expo is a meaningful and effective addition to the enhancement and promotion of Malaysia’s tourism in general and outdoor industry in particular.
